Number One

Paper Cutout Collage

...and so this year in my on-going journey with art officially begins. 

Above is the first piece of art I have completed in 2015. It is a combination of paper cutout and collage. I made it as a birthday present for a dear friend who is enamored with the color red. I haven't actually used color in many of my cutouts - only 3 prior to this piece - but thought it would be a good change of pace to challenge myself. I quite enjoyed the challenge and am still pondering the outcome.
